Pep Guardiola Surprises Man City Staff
Pep Guardiola has gifted Manchester City’s support staff with a £10 000-bonus each, acknowledging the contributions of at least 60 employees, including chefs, receptionists and physiotherapists.
This recent gesture reflects the 53-year-old Catalan’s commitment to fostering unity within the English club, a factor he credits for their sustained success during his eight years in charge. His players also contribute to a staff fund at the end of each season.
Under Guardiola’s leadership, Man City has won six English Premier League (EPL) titles, including four championships back-to-back, as well as the UEFA Champions League title, two FA Cups and four Carabao Cups.
Despite recent speculation, City decided against signing Celtic FC’s Kyogo Furuhashi and FC Copenhagen’s Orri Oskarsson, instead opting to stick with their current squad.
The team’s only major summer changes include selling Julián Álvarez to Atletico Madrid and Sergio Gómez to Real Sociedad. Guardiola is also expected to rely on the false nine system if Erling Haaland becomes unavailable.
City intends to secure a fifth consecutive EPL title – starting the season off promisingly by winning their first two games – and their next match is against West Ham this Saturday, 31 August at London Stadium, England.
